Greetings,
I get errors when using a TDBLookupComboBox to display a list of data given
by a detail TQuery. When the TQuery providing the list is a detail in a
master/detail relationship certain attempts to select an item from it
results in
"Field '' not found"
as well as access violation errors. I have created a file that seems to fix
the error and have been running with the fix for about a month and hope you
find it useful.
I have posted a 7 page document that explains the error in much more detail,
steps to make the error, and the workaround in TDBLookupComboBoxFix.txt in
the attachments newsgroup under
"attachments for TDBLookupComboBox Master/Detail Problems".
This post also contains files for a form that demonstrates the problem and
the new DBCtrls.pas file that addresses the problem and how to use it.
This is also recorded in Quality Central's database under number 5384.
