|
|
Hi,
I've been using TIdTCPServer & TIdTCPClient (Delphi6 & integral Indy
component) to send data between an NT workstation & an NT server for a
while. It's worked fine up to now! We've just upgraded the server to W2003
& workstation to XP. When I try to install the application containing
TIdTCPServer as a service on the server, it doesn't seem to like it -
installs & starts with errors in the event log (not finding an ID or dll,
I'm at home at the moment so a bit vague about the error message -
sorry!). When the client tries to connect to the server - nothing! Tried
a test program (regular application, rather than a service|) & connected
to it OK, so the problem is probably service-related.
My question - I put a simple domain admin user name (Domainusername) to
start the service on NT. How does this change with the active directory
of 2003 (CN=username, OU=Administrator, OU=domain.com)? Indeed, does the
Service Application of D6 work with 2003?
Thanks

Yeh, I know - I'm a pillock! Got to work out how to change Pan to send to
Borland, rather than Demon. Obviously got it wrong. Not got time at
moment, trying to sort out problem related to post, to deadline (Monday
9am). Will work it out myself, or at least get round it. Will stop posting
until can sort.

Hoi Mark
Until you get the Pan newsreader (first time I hear about that one) setup,
you could use the Borland newsgroups web access. Go to this page:
http://newsgroups.borland.com/cgi-bin/dnewsweb?cmd=xover&group=borland.public.delphi.internet.winsock&utag=
and click on Post button, then copy/paste your question there. Not the best
solution but it should work.
