When you have just installed and run D2005 for first time go to Project
Default>Options select delphi version.
You will notice that all packages are selected.
deselect the ones u do not use very much (may take a while for some to
deselect). i.e just select the bare bones.

Now when u load Delphi is will come up much faster.

Like wise when u open a new project go to Project >Options and check that
you only have the packages you need.

Just add packages to your project when you need the components!! But leave
the default with minimum selected. (close all files then Project >default
options can be selected).

If you have ever used VB6 you will have noticed that only bare bones
components are on the pallete. Pity the default for Delphi was not set up
this way.

Also get Delphi config manager http://www.alphalink.com.au/~jed/dcm.htm and
build basic start up options such as:-
Delphi win32 only .Net only or C# only etc this really speeds up the load.
I use D2005 win32 only most of the time and this loads in 28 seconds on my
550mhz Pentium abouty same as D7prof
A full load with out component one studio installed is 2min 10sec on my 2gig
laptop and 3m 30sec on my 500mhz. This is after a re-install and upd2
applied.

Tony
