Is there a tool to search for component names like a wildcard search
installed in the palette? It would be nice if I could search like "component
names consisting of 'action' or starts with 'TB*' because I spend a lot of
time browsing through my component list for a name that sometimes slip my
mind.
Thanks

You are not saying which version of Delphi you have got. Delphi 2006's Tool
Palette already has got incremental search. Just activate it and start
typing.

Ray Konopka has a great little utility that lets you categorize your
components in a menu.

This is greate. I've been using it for such a long time.
And IMO it's better than D2006.

By the way, in my D7 the GExperts menu will always open upwards rather than
downwards, and thus all menuitems stay hidden from view. Everytime I install
a new GE version I wish this issue has been fixed but no help.
Does this happen to any of you?

See the main menu help topic here, and see if that fixes it:

Yes, tks. Gee, I don't know why I got this feeling that if I ever have a
question about a product, it will never be covered in a FAQ! |

Thanks all for taking the time to reply. I am using D7 and it would be nice
to be able to search for components using wildcards and not just by
incremental search.
Thanks
Andy

Maybe this one is closer to what you are looking for:
PaletteBar
http://www.helli.de/pbar/index.html
screen shot showing search box on the bottom:
