|

Hello,
I have a project written in Delphi7.
I like D7 because its fast thats why I didnt moved to a newer version yet.
I want your opinion, do I have to move my project to BDS2006?
Is there any difference in performance or stability? My app is native exe
not .NET.
Please advice me.
Thanks |

I had some components break (DevEx Grid v3), so I still have some
applications which I develop in Delphi 7. But I like BDS2006 for new stuff.

BDS2006 comes with a new memory manager and some improved RTL functions from
the FastCode project. This *can* make a huge difference in performance of
your apps. OTOH you can also add these to a Delphi7 app and for many apps
it won't make a difference at all.
I like the new stuff that BDS gave me, like refactoring etc.
