Hi,
I've been using D5 Pro for something like 5 years. I want to upgrade to
D2006 but the local Middle East dealer wanted a 'proof of purchase' IRO D5.
I'm 4000 miles from home and doubt I still have the slip anyway. Obviously I
can supply the detaisl re the delphi number and code but this doesn't seem
to be acceptable to the agent.
Thought I had regsitered online at the time but can only find the Xylix
registartion on the Borland Site.
Thought that an upgrade would normally check for a valid previous Delphi
anyway. Guess not.
What can be done?

Ive not used a reseller who wants proof of previous ownership. What
would they count as "proof"?

Hi Liz,
They're asking for the original putchase doucment which I don't have 'on
me' - it's 4000 miles away (if I still have it). Suppose it's the way things
are done in the Middle East. Normally just by an upgrade pack and it
install's without problems.

Get someone to transship for you.
I had the same problem (recently). Luckily I had to return home to deal
with another issue and sorted out these things at the time.
