|
|
I program apps for my own personal use on a part-time basis using BCB3
Pro. I am considering an upgrade at some point but could use some
input on whether to go BDS or go to BCB 5 or BCB6.
With this background in mind:
1) Does BCB3 Pro qualify for BDS upgrade pricing?
2) Can multiple IDE's be installed on the same system at one time, and
run simultaneously?
For example, can BCB3 and BCB5 or BCB6 or BDS install and function
correctly on the same system?
3) How stable is BCB5? BCB6? C++ Builder 2006? Are any of the
versions notably buggy or more difficult to use?
4) As an intermediate-level coder, would I gain much in terms of
features
from choosing BCB6 or BDS over BCB5? On a limited budget, is it worth
the extra dollars to go BDS?
5) Are the IDE's from among BCB5, BCB6, and BDS markedly
different? Are they all similar in terms of time needed to learn each
of them, and transfer existing BCB3 projects into them?
Any help on these questions or extra input is most appreciated.
