I was just wondering about a thing:

Would it be possible to install the old BC++ 5 IDE and get it to use
C++Builder's command line tools for building, project management, etc?

Has anyone tried that out? Any hints/pitfalls/traps I should be aware
of?

Yes, it's done, is called Tools5.5.
Tools5.5 uses the addon interface in BC5.0x to integrate the command line
tools of the free BCC5.5 seamsly
(it's well spelled?). You can donwload the last version at www.jogy.net .
There are others addon's for BC5.0x like JideTool ( www.jogy.net ), smargret
(www.solidynepro.com/sebas), enderAddon (cant find current site),
appExpert5.5 (wich includes several code generator, even a more usefull
'new module' that included in CBX: www.solidynepro.com/sebas), CTC testwell
(www.testwell.fi), etc.

Saludos

Hola Sebastian,

Muchas gracias!
Now one more thing: what would be a minimal setup for BC++ 5 to run
those? Can I simply copy the files off the run image on the CD?

Kennet:

I would prefer to run installer and un-check:
- DOS support (since BCC5.5 only generates Win32 code),
- MFC support
- Source code and examples
