|
|
All,
I like the capability of Rave reports to export to multiple sources,
including PDF. The problem is, I want to draw the page more or less
myself... possibly based on content from a MyDatabase simple xml database...
but really just access to a canvas that I can save to PDF and get a print
preview of would be great.
D2005 complicates this further with its context sensitive component
palettes... so you cant even use the RAVE components unless you have a
database application.
Anyone care to point me in the right direction?
Thanks,
Dan

Dan,
it's possible to create report without a database in rave, of course.
There are several tutorial type articles on our add-ons page at
http://www.nevrona.com/rave/addons.shtml . Look for:
"First Steps for Rave with Delphi" article
"Introduction to Rave I through IV" article
"Rave Overview Presentation" from ADUG symposium
"Next Steps for Rave - Rave goes .NET" article
:-) thomas

I thought so... BUT D2005 has context sensitive component palettes and
doesnt show RAVE components unless your connecting to a database... fun huh.

Dan,
I'll look into my D2005.Archi version and try my first

Dan,
now tested:
Delphi 2005 Architect with the Rave 6 be version:
I have created in Win32 and vcl.net-application a Raveproject with only
parameters. runs fine here.
with Customconnections too. no database (like dbx, ibx or other components).
