I'm programming in D2005 and would like to use the Interbase VCL components WITH FIREBIRD. How do I tell Delphi to stop using Interbase and use FB 2.0 instead? thank you, -D. Bowen take in consideration that while nowadays Firebird and Interbase are still very similar, in future versions compatibility issues could appear as both move in different directions. What are you talking about? The Firebird install can install a gds32.dll that internally redirect all calls to fbclient.dll. You could also rename the fbclient.dll to gds32.dll too, but i would recommand using a componentset that supports Firebird.
