Wondering if there's a component out there that allows one to issue
TCanvas-like drawing commands, which are then converted to a PDF-file. A
bit like the TPrinter.Canvas, but for PDF?
Many thanks. |

Just as you replied I was going to ask which does the trick better:
PDF in-the-box or llPDFLib. The later is quite more expensive and I was
wondering if the extra features are worth it.
Thanks! |

wPDF does this ( http://www.wpcubed.com/products/wpdf/index.htm ).
It offers a true TCanvas object (with a "Handle" for GDI functions).

How about another one!
eDocEngine does this and more. eDocEngine gives you a real TCanvas object which
you can draw on to using the TCanvas methods and Windows GDI commands (by
passing the canvas Handle to GDI calls). You can place additional elements on
the PDF page/document, such as form fields, annotations, bookmarks and more.
All three editions of eDocEngine can do what you want.

Indeed, impressive. But does the basic (ReportExport) version do the PDF
TCanvas thing...? Not clear from the features matrix.
There is also the funny aspect that $1 seems to be equal to ?1.
According to that philosophy I'm sure you don't mind if I pay in
Rupee...? |

Yes, the ReportExport edition does support all the drawing to canvas and saving
to PDF features. Only, it won't do the forms and advanced functions (tables,
paragraphs...), which are not directly part of TCanvas. In short, if it is
supported by TCanvas/GDI functions, ReportExport can do it.

True, "?" being a certain number that is a factor in the above equation. ;)

Certainly not, when it's equal to the product formed by the correct factor(s).
;)
