By now every one has started realizing the value of ECO with Delphi 2005
..Even Borland has started conducting ECO tours through its members. Future
Delphi Pro versions will have ECO bundled with it.More Together features are
going to be inroduced with Delphi

How ever ECO is still a mystery for many?

There are number of ECO experts(apart from those employed by Borland) who
are writing very good articles on ECO & there is even one book likely to be
released soon

How ever I feel this is not enough. To accelerate the process of more users
getting into ECO , I suggest that we the users pay voluntary contribution to
these experts for their published work.It can be even 5 $ per head. This will
go a long way in getting quality articles & demos for the Delphi user
community.Though the amount may be small the authors will appreciate the
recognition that they are getting from the Delphi community. It will also
encourage them into digging deeper in to ECO
All that the author is required to do is to have a paypal kind of an account
where users can pay the amount
Even Borland can chip in keeping the quality of these articles & demos. It
can even set up a gateway for payment to the authors.
I for one am committing 50 $ as my contribution for these articles .I will
pay them out on seeing the response to this suggestion from the Delphi
community.I am just recognising in a small way the value of these authors to
my on learning process.
If more people agree to even commit money on this forum, I feel it will
encourage more people to write articles ,tutorials & demos for ECO.
The work can be categorized into
-Articles
-Tutorials
-Demos
-New ECO components
-Patches to ECO bugs
(or combination of any of the above)

It is more than a mistery to me! I don't even know what it
is. Smile. Actually, I followed the example given by Dr. Bob,
but I gave up since I could not get it to work. It is really
very interesting.

I will buy the book before it is even published! I hope the
book will explain how one can write a full-fledge application:
not just a single Winform or Webform.

Kudos to those (Dr. Bob, Todd and a few others) who have written articles on Delphi, C# Builder, and ECO. Their
contributions have helped me a lot in my programming.

FWIW, I attended Malcolm Groves' ECO presentation in Auckland on
Monday, and he said the current plan is to include ECO in all SKUs for
the next Delphi release. The higher SKUs will have more functionality,
but to what extent is still being decided.

Borland pay a minimum of USD$200 for articles published on BDN, so
authors can get paid for their efforts now.

While it is nice to know that the Pro version will have ECO(I have architect
version) i doubt pro version will have features of commercial prouduction
quality features for enterprise applications..
At the same time this will go a long way to make ECO more popular

Hi Jarvis,

Can you say if the book will be based on Eco III or Eco II?

Thanks,

ECO III.

A lot of it will be relevant for ECOII though.
