I don't think the chance was wasted as the moderator "badger" said in his
final paragraph:

"I'll close this now and wait for someone else that is truly
interested in getting the build system borland-friendly to
show up."

I don't use libcurl (nor do I know what it is) but I did find the
conversation amusing. I can't understand why it took JF so long to comply
with the moderator's wishes for a simple diff. At the same time I think the
moderator should have simply done the diff. I know if someone provides code
to me that will make my product better I try my best to do what I need to on
my side (assuming I can understand the submission). If I want it in other
formats I request that the person submit it in the future that way.

Ah ... the egos of programmers.

I just recently finished a project that uses libcurl in a BCB6

It's too late only for me...

The reason is simple.
I'm french translator for winmerge application also at sourceforge.
At that time of the conversation it was just a tool vs another.
I just wanted to make someone discover what I consider a good tool.

Just to convice you of that. I took me 3 differents uploads to show those
differences since there is a limitation for upload file size on the site.

So do I. I complied to the request. Found the diff tool. Uploaded the result.
Yes I was irritated to do the job twice. And said so.
But never ended abruptly the conversation.

Ah ... the egos of programmers.

Be honest. Its fun to see someone else to fall in that trap.
Most of the time I laugh when it's not me.
Or offer mediation when a friend is involved (if situation hasn't degrade).

This is a semantics issue. I could have said core member, admin, or any
other number of names for a person that is tied to the product. I didn't
want to track down the person's actual position just for my silly post.

As I have done in this situation ;-)

This has happened to me on more than one occasion.

And here I thought it was going to help integrate differential forms
over manifolds. :^)
