Hello Borland Friends:

I'm using C++ Builder 6.0 to create an ActiveX dll (for an Active Server Object). I've relatively successfully created the dll, and used <Run>|<Register ActiveX Server> to register it, etc.

Problem is, now I want to redistribute it to the world. I *think* I need to Access the <Project>|<Web Deployment Options> (According to the BCB docs), but that menu option is disabled (grayed out). Does anyone know why this disabled, and/or what I can do to enable it?

Thank you in advance for any help,

-Brandon

Sorry, but I posted the question in the ActiveX group a week ago and nobody there seemed to have any ideas. So today, I thought about trying another group. Geesh... when I saw that there was a response to my question, I thought someone actually had an answer.

You don't think my questin is "remotely" related to the subject? If you actually read the question, it really IS a non-technical question related to Borland CPP Builder. Don't just see "ActiveX object" and assume it's a technical question. The only less technical question you can ask than mine, specifically about such a technical tool as BCB is, "how much does it cost?"

It was only after I had posted the question in this newsgroup that I saw the CPPBUILDER.IDE group -- Which is probably the perfect group for this question... I wasn't going to NOT post it in what may be the perfect group for the question just because I had already posted it in another group that I thought was the most applicable at the time. Is my logic so wrong?

Please post a question in only one newsgroup as the guidelines specify:

When doing it, please select a newsgroup that is at least remotely related
to the subject. For instance, your technical question is posted here in the
non-technical group and not in the ActiveX group or one of the web or
internet groups.

It is a about the technical details of how to deploy and ActiveX DLL. Some
of the questions you ask relates to ActiveX and some relates to how to make
the IDE work. I do not think it is non-technical.

Why is that? You had a list of newsgroups presented in your news reader.
There is a list of newsgroups on Borland's newsgroups page:
http://info.borland.com/newsgroups You probably should now post your
mesasge in a place where the most people with experience in the subject are
likely to see it. Aside from technical questions being off topic in a
non-technical group, they also have less chance for useful answers when
posted here.

Hi Brandon

This newsgroup is mainly for questions about computer problems,
lottery scams, Linux, X-men, ancient history and bashing Borland. :-)

You could try searching here - search on something like - dll activex
deployment.
http://www.tamaracka.com/search.htm

Sort by date and you'll see one Delphi thread on around 30 May about
just this issue in Delphi - sometimes Delphi & BCB have common
problems. You can also search on groups.google.com but it misses a
few messages.
