Hi all,

i learned that Webbroker library (TPageProducer, ..) is no longer supported in Delphi8. As i still find this library valuable, is there a way to install it on Delphi8, or must i think it will have no future?
Thank's for your help

For W32 this could by right, but I don't think so for .NET...
unfortunately.

Hi,

I think we can see .Net as an other world. New things, new
procedures. New good stuff, and the benefit provided by Borland to
allow us to continue using Delphi in this behavior.

And Win32, as finally realized by Borland with DiamondBack, as our
current and still powerful tool. And with a long living perspective.

In such scenary, WebBroker for Win32 will allow us to continue old
projects, and even start new ones, where such technology is convenient
and pratical.

Despite the possibility of having WebBroker in .Net would be very
desirable, in a long term, maybe the path in .Net is to use it's own
technologies, as Asp.Net.

not to have Webbroker in .NET means that it is very difficulty (or
impossible) to port webbroker based web applications to .NET.

Thats all...

Hi,

But you don't NEED to port webbroker apps to .Net. If possible it
would be a good extra stuff, but you can continue doing webbroker for
Win32.

The question some time ago was if Delphi would abandon Win32, and
all we already know that they wont. I think it will be back in D9,
D10...

Windows WILL continue supporting Win32 apps in Longhorn, what means
at least 10 years more.

No worries by now...

Marcelo.

PS: WebBroker is not a difficult framework to do. It's possible to do
CGI apps using only a console app. Maybe someone can do a version for
..Net, porting at least the basic components (TWebDispatcher,
TPageProducer and some few other).

IntraWeb includes WebBroker for .NET, and Delphi 2005 includes IntraWeb...
