MS internet connection sharing...

I'm using MS OSes for soon 20 years and for all that time I had virus just
once in 80-th when I took a floppy with some games from a fellow student.
You can hardly blame MS for that. All my computers are always on Internet,
and I don't use software firewalls. My computers hardly ever crash, though
they work for weeks without reboot, moreover I have programs that are
running for days to complete, and have no problems with that. The only thing
that crashes from time to time is Linksys router. I never had a single break
into my computer, though a log showed many tries. I even have wireless
access points everywhere in my house, and nobody has managed to get through
that either, though log showed they tried. I always install all the patches
and never had a single problem with that. MS must be doing a pretty good
job. All this nonsense about lack of security is spread by people who don't
even work or know MS products well, just to express their jealousy and hate
toward a company that is extremely successful.

bet, that was Yankee Doodle Smile My record is worse - 2 viruses in all my life: mentioned YD in 80es,
and, another one in 90es (some that made some faking with RNA*).

I have similar experience with MS, though a MS-DOS machine was the 3rd
computer I owned, still have my Atari 400 somewhere...

Do you have the lynksys router with a firewall? I do, works great.

poppycock. I am an engineer. I design meters. I HAVE to design an interface
that anyone from college professor to illiterate prison parolees can
understand....
when I see a shortcoming, I will state what I see without any jealousy or
ego
involved.
