We use FIBPlus. Technical support is great and the product works well.

You should probably download and evaluate the various trials yourself. You
might also include Zeos Database Objects in your evaluation list
(http://sourceforge.net/projects/zeoslib/).

Mike

Zeos Database Objects looks like a dead project. Do you have experience in using it? what's your comments about this components?

I'd recommend IBObjects, it's very well supported and we've found it to be
stable ... FIBplus is also a good option.

We used Zeos dbo with MySQL and it worked very well. We have no experience
using it with FireBird - as I said, we use FIBPlus. In the newsgroups I've
seen reports of success with Zeos dbo with FireBird and that is why I
suggested it might be worth evaluating.

Zeos is by far the best connection libarary for both SQL Server and
Firebird. Can't say for other DBs.

I hope it is just your IMHO. But, why do you think, it is
best for SQL Server ?

I have found it to be the fastest and most reliable method of
connecting via delphi. Compared to DBExpress and ADO.

All,

I think that the support for this is going to be short lived (i.e. within
JVCL). From the JVL NG:
UIB will
not update the JvUIB components inside the JVCL 3 anymore.
This was decided because keeping them up to date would have meant having
to distinct codebases, one for the JVCL, one for the UIB at large.
As a result, users of JvUIB from the JVCL are urged to use the one from
the original UIB author and JvUIB in the JVCL will be deprecated in the
not too distant future.

Seems to be around JVCL not wanting to take of the work of keeping source
compat with freepascal, which is not in the plan, so you should look back at
UIB directly.

Cheers,

JAC.

According to my benchmarks, AnyDAC is faster than ZeosLib.
How reliable is AnyDAC ... I have strong QA system, that is a
part of distribution. I have not see anything comparable from
Zeos.

I am using the one from UIB directly as well. I just could not remember

the url when I replied to the message.
