|
|
hello there,
i don't know if this is the right place to open this topic, if it isn't
sorry...
we have developed a ERP system using Delphi 5. this is how it exists
today:
client:
- Win32 applications, compiled using bpl's
- ClientDataSet (customized to work with XML packets instead of MIDAS
packets)
- WebConnection
middle
- Borland SocketServer
- ActiveX Libraries (COM+ dll's - TMTSRemoteDataModule)
- ADO
- DataSetProvider (used only to generate XML packets to send to client
applications)
database
- Oracle or MS SQL Server
lately we have facing problems with this structure since the concurrent
access to the dll's reached over 500 users... i read somewhere on
newsgroups that this is not the best solution for such a large volume
of use, so, i decided to change that.
but i don't know the best option to use instead of COM+ dll's... Java?
..NET?
the idea is change the dll's without interfering on clients or database
(i know it is probably impossible... maybe i can write some
intermediate layer, wrapper, proxy, i don't know yet)...
any ideas? suggestions?
thanks a lot for any help...
