Used to run smoothly.I have cable connection. But now will not connect to any site.
I called the cable
company and they say the connection is fine. They say it is a Winsock problem.
When I try opening a site on IE...It says "Page cannot be displayed". |
Also I get the following error messages:
Rundll
Error loading C :Progra~newdot~newdot~dll
When I try to open Outlook Express I get the following error message:
Msinm has caused an error in COMCTL32.DLL
Msinm will now close.
Also some of my Notepad files have disappeared.

How can I get IE back to work.
I tried repairing IE twice.
Also tried reinstalling it.
I do not want to lose my files and emails on my PC so I prefer not to
reinstall windows Me.
I did a scandisk too.
I ran spybot.. |
I tried "system restore". I tried to create a new restore date...last
few days. But it will not allow me to do so.
It says
System Restore is not able to create a Restore point.
Pls. restart your computer and then try again.
I did restart but I get the same message as above.I created a Startup
disk and went thru Microsoft's instructions and yet I cannot get
System Restore to work.
One of Microsoft's instructions call for typing something on an EBD.
What is an EBD ?
