Hi all,

I have an application that creates Worddocuments (by means of OLE), and
attaches a datasource to it (flat asciifile). Using the mailmerge-object I
can send the contents of the merged document together with the addressees to
the printer. All works fine upto here.

I'd like to have access to the datasourcefile (the flat asciifile) while the
document is being opened (eg by executing tmemo.lines.loadfromfile in
Delphi, with the document opened, returns an error 'Cannot open file...').
In some way Word, I guess, keeps a lock on this file once the mailmerge has
been executed (even closing and reopening the document afterwards). In order
to solve this, I searched for a method to de-attach the link from the
Worddocument to the flat asciifile, but can't seem to find a method to
achieve this.

Does anyone have any idea of how I could solve this problem ? I'd like to be
able to open the document AND at the same time from within my application
the flat asciifile.

Any help appreciated
