The user can define how variable text has to be replaced with values from a database. We use a Word-document wit some variables between <# and #>. These are replaced wit Word search and replace functions. After this is done the document is printed and closed before proceeding with the next record. One of our customers complained that this worked slow, but when the renamed the word-document to a rtf-document (letter.doc to letter.rtf) the program did everything much faster. Does anyone know why this happens? I don't have a clue???
