I've been automating Word 2003 through Delphi 2005 with some success. But
now I'm running into a very strange problem and could really use some help
in finding a solution.
I have Word 2003 running in an OleContainer. Opening files, making edits
and all that works great. The toolbars and menus work pretty much the way I
expect them to.
Here's the problem -- when the OleContainer loses focus, the toolbars
disappear. I have managed to bring them back without too much fuss (using
OleContainer.DoVerb(0)), with one exception.
The toolbar no longer updates itself as you scroll through the Word
document.
For example, place the cursor on a bold word, the bold button should
highlight, it doesn't. Right-click the toolbars and the button updates as
it should, until you move the cursor again, for instance to a non-bold
word.
Help from you Delphi gurus would sure be appreciated!
Thanks,

Okay so NO ONE has an answer for this problem?
Can at least someone tell me if you see the same problem when you try to
automate Word through an OLE Container?
Has anyone actually automated Microsoft Word successfully (using OLE
Containers)? Or is this just one of those theoretical things everyone
talks about without really doing it?
PLEASE post if you've ever tried to do so, successful or not. I'm really
interested to see how likely it is to actually use OLE containers well.
Thanks,
SB. |
