Is there any free component for working with xml file (read into TDataset
and write back to xml file)?

The TClientDataset component allows you to save your data in XML format. |
I suppose if you can format your data in the same way that it is written
out, you can load it into the TClientDataset.

To save the dataset to xml:

To load you may use the SMImport suite but this is shareware

TXMLDataset? You can find it and a fairly good history of it's development on
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/xmldataset/
I've used it for quite a while now and have never really had a problem with it.
