How to detect the *!!@$^ removal/insertion of media from a USB card
reader.
After two months of chasing threads from 1999 to present, and my tail,
it appears that nobody can/will post a piece of code that works. I
have seen Robert Marquardt (HID) respond to requests (apparently he
knows how) but no working examples.I have installed and tried a dozen
bits of code but nothing that works. I will be happy to post the
examples I am testing or links to the original code samples if
necessary. People have been begging since 1999 for a solution.
FWIW all the tests I've made are able to trap the usb device removal
insertion using registerdevicenotifiaction variations with different
handles (application.handle,form.handle,newHwnd) for the first
parameter, none of which accomplish the task. Besides I can do that
with WM_DEVICECHANGE. I don't need a whole class to do that. Windows
happily traps this event so why can't Delphi through the API? What's
the big problem here? Have any of the people who have posted this
question over the past 9 years found the solution? Will somebody
share? Robert, a piece of code? Mike Hyatt, Sergio, HELP!!
