hi,
Would a System that lets you create applications with different languages
(e.g. ecma/javascript, c++, pascal, basic) using modern techniques like XUL,
CSS, XML and SVG on the front-end work? I mean, would it make sense to have
such a thing to develop real applications or does .NET already full-fill all
that?

It's a great idea. So what if you have overlap with .Net, surely its a
layer above it?

Well I was thinking if it makes sense nowadays in the days of .net to
develop a "development system" that allows you to use different techniques
like the one listed (especially xul, svg and css and xml) together with an
interpreted language like javascript, pascal or others ? Or is there no need
of such a thing as .net does already all that stuff? Personally I think .net
is too big and too complex and I could solve most if not all applications
easier with a system of xul,svg and xml..

I agree. By the way, exist now some work done for it. Gogle for Mozquito
Flash & MyXALM (or MyXULM)
for something.
I like the idea of a complete independent GUI toolkit in a fashion like
RemObjects built a interconnected/interchangeable plugin for remoting.
I like specially the MyXALM&Mozquito because in my research are the most
close to the ideal...
