Hi i have downloaded some components to parse XML files but i seem to miss
XDOM.pas and XDOM.dcu. I have installed XDOM_3_1 but on the example I
downloaded it uses XDOM_3_1 and XDOM... I tried to delete the use of XDOM
but the code doesn't work... I am reading this tutorial
http://homepages.borland.com/ccalvert/TechPapers/Delphi/XMLSimple/XMLSimple.html
and i got the files at http://www.philo.de/xml/downloads.shtml... If someone
could help me i would be VERY happy

Thanx !!

Chriss

I don't know how much this helps, but nevertheless: XDOM by Dieter
Köhler is a set of powerful native Delphi XML-components that - so it
seems to me - can do most of the things you want to do in this
respect. They are documented in great detail, but you either need to
be very familiar with advanced programming or happy to spend some time
learning it. The problem you've run into trying to use C. Calvert's
old articles is that these articles apply to very old versions of Xdom
- years ago the "code" property was discontinued, and that makes a
great difference. The information in those articles can't be used with
the new versions of XDOM! I suggest you do as follows: download the
components, install them precisely as explained by Dieter Köhler on
his site. Subscribe to the mailing list - and search the net for tips
and ideas. Being a novice programmer I must say I didn't find the
components easy to use, but eventually I managed to make them do what
I wanted (which is much less advanced than what has been outlined
her). Good luck!

I have a couple of updated OpenXML articles that I have now received
permission to make available. I'm liaising with Dieter with a view to
adding them to the OpenXML web-site. With any luck, this will take place
over the weekend of March 6/7.

In the meantime, you can download the source code for the articles here:
http://www.craigmurphy.com/bug - look for the OpenXML items dated June 2001,
September 2001.
