|
|
Hi all,
I've been fighting with this for the past 3 hours.
I re-installed my machine a Win2k and installed
D6 and am installing Indy 9.0.14.
I've read the docs, removed the old Indy files with the
Installer, put the search path as the first on the list
in the Library Tab, compiled the FullD6.bat and when I try
to add the package Delphi gives me a "Invalid Package file
...dclIndy60.bpl" .
Could anyone please tell me what I'm doing wrong? It must
be something incredibly simple.. has to be... I simply
can't see it.
Thanks
Andrew

It's probably that some things may wind up being compiled with an older |
version of Indy which causes things to get out of whack. This is
particularly true when you have Borland's distribution because they put
things in paths that are different than what FullD6.BAT does. This can get
tricky because there's some files that are in the IDE's standard path.
Making things worse is that Borland has to use MSI for its installs and
that could attempt a "repair" that would mess up the current Indy copy you
have (I would not know what that would do though).
Another thing is that most distributions (including the FullD6.BAT) place
run-time only packages in your WindowsSystem dir and it has to do that as
we can't know what your PATH really is and the run-time packages have to be
in a location on your path or Delphi may not be able to load them.
I hope that this explains why you probably got the problem that you did.
